Team Preview
With reigning MVP Sudan Daniel out for the season, the Red Lions better think of a quick solution to their problem. But, knowing that they have a champion caliber coach in Frankie Lim somehow calms them down. Lim is confident that even without Daniel, his deep bench can make up for the latter's absence. Lanete, this year's team captain for the Red Lions will still be the marked man in every outing but never discount the fact that they have a super rookie in their fold who filled in the slot vacated by Borgie Hermida. San Beda Red Cubs' hotshot Baser Amer has moved up to the next level to join the Red Lions. Dave Marcelo, Jake Pascual and Rome Dela Rosa are still around to give major headache to teams who dare to challenge the Red Lions for the crown. Kyle Pascual and the much-improved Melo Lim will also deliver the good silently for the Red Lions. The Semerad twins and Villahermosa will also be a part of the usual rotation of Coach Lim. He said, " Our annual strength and conditioning training in the US has rewarded us with successful seasons in the past. After regaining lost glory in 2009, we have redeemed ourselves last year and with the quality training we have given to the kids, we are definitely on the right track for maybe, another shot for the crown." San Beda also lost former RP Youth standout Jaypee Mendoza due to health reasons. Ryusei Koga and Paolo Pontejos are the other two faces that will join the squad this year. Lim doesn't want his team to peak early so, he noted that, they would take this season one game at a time in order to evaluate their performances properly.
