Team Preview
Out to prove their worth to be a part of the oldest collegiate league in the country, the EAC Generals will be up and running for a much decent finish than that of their two previous seasons. Coach Gerry Esplana emphasized that Defense will be the center of their campaign this year. Esplana noted that, "My team's is on a rebuilding stage that's for sure. And, with the addition of quite a number of new faces in our lineup will force us to work longer hours before the season in order to gel. But, luckily, in a short span of time, it appears that we're now playing as a real team." The Generals, to be led by team captain Claude Cubo will have to play as a solid unit for the entire 40 minutes in order to deliver. Cubo will bid farewell after this season, leaving the load to Franz Chiong, Russell Yaya and Milan Vargas. But, a revelation for the Generals in the off-season is Jan Jamon, who racked up points in every outing despite a woeful pre-season finish. All eyes will also be set on the arrival of Igee King, the son of former PBA player and legend Abe King and Joshua Torralba, a former RP youth U-16 mainstay. Former FEU Baby Tamaraw and PBB Teen Edition Housemate Jolas Paguia will suit up with EAC. Paguia was a vital cog for the Baby Tams a couple of years back. The Generals as a whole doesn't have a superstar per se but, depending on the delivery of the team, they could also pile up a number of wins including close ones against tougher teams like JRU or Mapua.
